Henry County Government is Hiring a FACILITY MAINTENANCE COORDINATOR Near Mcdonough, GA

The purpose of this classification is to supervise the day-to-day operations of department or division staff, including supervising staff, coordinating special projects, conducting training, providing management support and producing and reviewing reports.

  • Supervises, directs, and evaluates assigned staff: develops and oversees employee work schedules to ensure adequate coverage and control; compiles and reviews timesheets; approves/processes employee concerns and problems and counsels or disciplines as appropriate; assists with or completes employee performance appraisals; directs work; acts as a liaison between employees and management; and trains staff in operations, policies, and procedures.
  • Organizes, prioritizes, and assigns work; prioritizes and schedules work activities in order to meet objectives; ensures that subordinates have the proper resources needed to complete the assigned work; monitors status of work in progress and inspects completed work; consults with assigned staff to assist with complex/problem situations and provide technical expertise; provides progress and activity reports to management; and assists with the revision of procedure manuals as appropriate.
  • Generates and reviews a wide variety of reports related to daily operations and activities in order to audit work performed by subordinates; ensures accuracy of payroll deadlines; reviews, verifies, and approves daily functions that are complex in nature.
  • Processes a variety of documentation associated with department/division operations, within designated timeframes and per established procedures: receives and reviews various documentation, including payroll reports, personnel reports, employment documents, status reports and budget confirmations; reviews, completes, processes, forwards or retains as appropriate; prepares or completes various forms, reports, correspondence, and other documentation, including leave reports, payroll reports, and employee performance appraisals; compiles data for further processing or for use in preparation of department reports; and maintains computerized and/or hardcopy records.
  • Operates a personal computer to enter, retrieve, review or modify data, utilizing word processing, spreadsheet, database, presentation, Internet, e-mail, or other software; and operates general office or other equipment as necessary to complete essential functions.
  • Communicates with supervisor, other employees, County department heads, outside agencies and other individuals as needed to coordinate work activities, review status of work, exchange information, or resolve problems.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned. 

Completion of a standard high school course or its equivalent, supplemented by technical school course work in the electrical, plumbing, or carpentry trades.

Five (5) years experience in building construction and maintenance work providing the incumbent with a working knowledge of all building trades.

Possession of a valid Georgia Driver’s License

Any equivalent combination of education and experience is acceptable.

  • Knowledge of local government operations, law enforcement related programs, policies and plans, and modern office practices and procedures.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other similar programs.
  • Skill in the use of computers and software applications related to the essential functions of the job. 
  • Skill in effective communication, both verbally and in writing. 
  • Ability to meet and deal with employees and the public in an effective and courteous manner.
  • Ability to get along with others, and work effectively with the public and co-workers.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evening meetings.
  • Ability to multi-task and work within deadlines.
  • Ability to deal with confidential and sensitive matters.
  • Ability to work with and process payments for accounts within the budget and department.
  • Ability to use computers for data entry, word processing, and accounting purposes. 
  • Ability to operate a copying machine.
